Our learning this week…
In English, we’ve been focusing on the language features of our modelled text and have been identifying and using these in our own writing: modal verbs to give recommendations and writing complex sentences including using relative clauses.
In maths we have begun to look at fractions and have been working on identifying and finding equivalent fractions.
In RE, the children have become more familiar with Psalm 23 and have recognised that David was a model of prayer.
This week’s prayer and liturgy was planned and led by Sienna and Cameron. The theme of their liturgy was forgiveness and hope. In the Bible reading, Jesus was on the cross, and even while He was suffering, He showed love and forgiveness. One of the criminals next to Him asked Jesus to remember him, and Jesus promised that he would be with Him in heaven. This story reminded us that it’s never too late to turn to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness and love.

Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom."
Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:42-43
Luke 23:42-43
In geography, the children have been identifying the latitude and longitude of places within North, Central and South America..
In Spanish, the children have been putting into practice their knowledge gained of dates and sharing their birthday, over the last few months, through reading, writing, speaking and listening.
In PE the children are working with PE specialist Max from Blackpool Football Club Community Trust. The focus of PE this half term is tennis.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about TikTok. This online safety guide examines the TikTok app, highlighting risks such as inappropriate content, data misuse, addictive use, and stranger contact.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
