In RE this week looked at the story of Jesus’ transfiguration. We then reflected in its meaning for us and for Jesus’ disciples, who bore witness to this. In our books, we took on the role of one of Jesus’ disciples and recounted the events of the day, in the form of a diary entry. We also used this as an opportunity to outline the importance of Jesus’ transfiguration and what Jesus was telling his disciples: he truly was the Messiah and his glory will come about through his passion, death and resurrection.

Here is what else we have been up to….

This week have continued with our SATS booster lessons on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Mrs Owen and Mrs Ormerod have continued to build and develop Year 6’s reading skills and GPS understanding. They are focusing on how to answer some of the questions, in order to achieve the marks. In Maths, I have focused on negative numbers, parallel/perpendicular lines, angles on a straight line/circle and different types of angles.

In our Maths lesson our focus has been on statistics: line graphs, bar charts and pie charts. We also ended the week looking at the nets of 3D shapes.

In English we have used our time this week for some to finish off the last of their independent write, focus on our spellings and practice GPS questions.

In Geography we started a new topic on the Grand Canyon. We looked at where it was located in the world, how it was formed and how big it was. We used all of our research and learning from the lesson to create information leaflets all about it.

On Friday afternoon, we familiarised ourselves with our Easter reflection songs and script. If your children are anything like me, I am sure they have been singing ‘Resurrection Power’ in their sleep!

🖥Online Safety at Our Lady’s

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Streamers. This free guide highlights the potential dangers children face when watching and engaging with streamers and the importance of staying informed so you can help mitigate the risks.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
