In RE this week we started by looking at Fr. Frank’s responses to the questions we asked him, before half term. We then reflected on his answers and wrote about what impact they had on us. We were then able to compare our personal responses to these questions with his own. We then used some time to reflect on the meaning of the word Hope, as we celebrate this special jubilee year as pilgrims of hope. We are going to produce some sacred art, inspired by this, and the class are alrwady thinking about how they want to present this.

Here is what else we have been up to….

This week we started our SATs booster lessons, which are taking place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The class spent the whole morning in smaller groups, spending 1 hour with each Year 6 teacher, focsuing on the three SATs papers: GPS, Reading and Maths. These mornings have been so successful and I really think the children have found them beneficial too. We will continue with this ever Tuesday and Thursday morning for the next few weeks.

In Maths our focus remained on area and perimieter but this weke we were finding missing lengths. We also went on to finding the area of triangles.

In English we finished our guided wirte!! We are now all ready and equipped with all of the writing skills to plan and produce our own piece of narrative writing next week.

In Geography we finished our topic on the UK by looking at some of the major rivers of the UK. We learnt new vocabulary such as: mouth, soure, tributary, meander and delta. See if we can remember their definitions by asking us at home!

In HRSE we had some very special visitors who came in to give us a very important talk about drugs. It was the police! Please see details on the poster below, in terms of what was discussed…
