Our learning this week…
In English the children have been considering the pros and cons of keeping animals in captivity compared to the wild. This will be the focus of our balanced argument writing. We’ve been watching videos, which highlight the issues, and have been discussing and sharing our own opinions.
In maths this week we have been adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators to solve problems.
This week’s prayer and liturgy was planned and led by Layla, Peter and Ronnie. The theme of their liturgy was Son of Man. In the Gospel (Mark 16:13-19) it explores what the term the Son of Man means. Through prayer we discover how the titles for Jesus connect us more closely to Him.
“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Mark 16:16
In Science we have been testing the hardness of different materials.
In Spanish the children have been learning to talk about the pets they have.
In art we have continued to work on our own drawings inspired by the work of Chris Ofili.
In PE the children are working with PE specialist Erin from Blackpool Football Club Community Trust.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
It has been brought to our attention, that some children are regularly using these games, Roblox and Minecraft, and these apps on social media, Snapchat and Tiktok. The following safety guides give some great advice about keeping your children safe online, please take the time to read them, check your child’s device settings and discuss them with your child so they know what to do if something happens and they don’t feel safe when using them.
