Our learning this week…

In English the children finished their own dilemma narrative. We have also begun our new writing unit.

In maths this week we have been adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators.

This week’s prayer and liturgy was planned and led by Grace and James. The theme of their liturgy was Jesus Calms the Storm. In the Gospel (Mark 4:35-41) , Jesus shows a small glimpse of His divinity through His voice calming the stormy sea. Through this we can see how Jesus can restore order where there is chaos and mend the broken. We see how we can be filled with wonder and awe at Jesus’ mighty presence over the stormy seas in our lives. Grace and James reminded the children that when life gets tough, it can be easy to forget that Jesus cares for us - even His close friends sometimes needed reminding! They asked the class to invite the Holy Spirit to increase their faith and hope by asking God to support them.

“Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" Mark 4:40

In Science we have grouped materials according to their properties.

In PE the children are working with PE specialist Erin from Blackpool Football Club Community Trust.

In art we finished off our work from Arts week and I think you’l agree, the children did really well. Each child was given a piece of a cut-up landscape picture of Blackpool to paint, experimenting with the colours they use. We then collaged it back together into a triptych. Take a look at their work…

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Palworld  This free guide explores the immensely successful game, Palworld, detailing the risks it may pose to younger players and offering advice on how to let them enjoy this title safely.

We hope you find this guide informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.
