The Presentation of the Lord - 2nd February

This weekend we will celebrate the holy day of Candlemas, or The Presentation of the Lord, on 2nd February. This is a day when candles are blessed in Church and taken home and lit to share the Light of the World within our homes.

Wednesday Word

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…

In English, the children have written their own myth narrative, based on their wider reading and own creativity! There have been some wonderful, gruseome stories!

In Maths, the children have finished the multiplication and division unit and moved onto area.

In Music, the children have continued playing their cornets and now have a range of other brass instruments. Keep playing at home! The hard work now will be worth it.

In Science, the children learned, through experiments how energy affects volume.

In History, the children looked at how Christianity was brought back to Britain in the Anglo-Saxon period. .

In RE, the children considered the differences between Jesus and John the Baptist..

In computing, the children researched the weather and used the sort function on Excel.

Resilience team!

Wellbeing Wednesday has continued!

This week the children did a 5,4,3,2,1 mindful exercise and enjoyed time outside. They also practiced observing their own thoughts and feelings.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about TikTok. This free guide explores the potential online safety risks of TikTok, letting you know how to safeguard children and young people who use the platform.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
