This week in our liturgy we have been talking about John and how he came to pave the way for Jesus. John baptised people with water when they asked him how they could follow the Lord….but told them that soon someone would come who would baptised them with the love of God. We have learnt about how at the Baptism of Jesus people heard the voice of God for the first time and how the gift of the Holy Spirit was seen through the image of a dove.
Please follow this link below for more information on this week’s Gospel and to share some interesting activities at home.
We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…
In English, the children have been preparing to write their own myth narrative based on Arthur and the Golden Rope.
In Maths, the children have been learning to use the formal written method of short multiplication.
In Music, the children have continued playing their cornets. Keep playing at home! The hard work now will be worth it.
In Science, the children learned about sound, how sound is produced, how it travels and the structure of the ear.
In History, the children looked at change and continuity between Iron Age and Anglo-Saxon settlements, before having a go at making a model of a wattle and daub wall.
In RE, the children continued reflecting on how Jesus’ miracles show the beginning of the Kingdom of God.
Resilience team!
Wellbeing Wednesday has continued!
I have loved seeing the children’s mindful calm jars. I hope you’ve enjoyed making them and using them.
This week the children considered what good mental health looks like, then got active and had a dance with added bubbles!
The children also collected the hearts for the Houndshill kindness project.
At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about TikTok. This free guide explores the potential online safety risks of TikTok, letting you know how to safeguard children and young people who use the platform.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.

Reading records, reading books and water bottles need to be in school every day, please.
Y4’s PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays. Earrings should not be worn on PE days.
Remember cornets on a Tuesday! If you don’t practice, you won’t improve.
Homework is available on the Y4 Homework section of the website, times tables and spellings will be tested next Friday.
Please keep sending your child in with their red water bottles. Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.
