Trust In The Lord

Simon Peter took a leap of faith when following Jesus’ instructions. Through these prayers, children will have the opportunity to reflect on Simon Peter’s trust in Jesus. Each day children will be encouraged to learn a daily verse to help them to follow Jesus, like the first disciples.

Please follow this link below for more information on this week’s Gospel and to share some interesting activities at home.

Wednesday Word

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…

In English, the children have been preparing to write their own guide to capturing a Norse monster!

In Maths, the children have finished the area unit and begun to think about fractions.

In Music, the children have continued playing their cornets. Keep playing at home! The hard work now will be worth it.

In Science, the children learned about sound and pitch. They attempted to make instruments which could play different pitches.

In History, the children looked at bias, considering sources about Alfred the Great.

In RE, the children learned more about Peter and the Nicene Creed.

In PE, the children completed their final lesson on rugby, putting their skills into practice and playing some great tactical games!

Resilience team!

Wellbeing Wednesday has continued!

I have loved seeing the children’s mindful calm jars. I hope you’ve enjoyed making them and using them.

This week the children observed their own feelings with empathy.

We all got outside and looked for signs that spring was on the way. This brightened everyone’s day and I’ve been hearing about how the children have been making other grown ups do the same!

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about TikTok. This free guide explores the potential online safety risks of TikTok, letting you know how to safeguard children and young people who use the platform.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.

  • Reading records, reading books and water bottles need to be in school every day, please.

  • Y4’s PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays. Earrings should not be worn on PE days.

  • Remember cornets on a Tuesday! If you don’t practice, you won’t improve.

  • Homework is available on the Y4 Homework section of the website, times tables and spellings will be tested next Friday.

  • Please keep sending your child in with their red water bottles. Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,
