"He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit" Luke 3:16

Key Messages for Whole School Worship

Children will understand that:

  • Jesus’ baptism revealed that He is God’s beloved Son and set an example for all believers to follow.

  • Through baptism we are filled with the Holy Spirit and are invited into God’s family.

  • The Holy Spirit guides us in living like Jesus and loving others as God’s family too.

  • Our actions can share the love, kindness and generosity of Jesus to others.

Wednesday Word

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…

In English, the children have been looking at the features of myths and reading Arthur and the Golden Rope.

In Maths, the children have continued learning times tables and multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100.

In Music, the children have continued playing their cornets. Keep playing at home! The hard work now will be worth it.

In Science, the children learned about sound, and how sound changes as they got further away from the sound source.

In History, the children considered reasons for the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Britain.

In RE, the children revisited some miracles, before considering how they show the beginning of the Kingdom of God

Resilience team!

Wellbeing Wednesday has continued!

This week, the children visited other classes to tell them about the project we are doing for Houndshill shopping centre.

We also watched a video where Adam at One-Goal made a Mindful calm jar, mixing water, clear PVA, food colouring and glitter in a jar, then swirling it and ensuring they are only focussing on the jar to have a mindful calm moment. If your child makes one, I would love to see them in school!

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about JusTalk Kids This free guide breaks down the potential risks of JusTalk Kids and provides expert advice on how to safeguard young users as they navigate the app.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.

  • Reading records, reading books and water bottles need to be in school every day, please.

  • Y4’s PE days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Earrings should not be worn on PE days.

  • Remember cornets on a Tuesday! If you don’t practice, you won’t improve.

  • Homework is available on the Y4 Homework section of the website, times tables and spellings will be tested next Friday.

  • Please keep sending your child in with their red water bottles. Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.
