Good afternoon everyone,
I honestly cannot believe how quickly this year has gone and that we have reached the end of Year 2 and Key Stage 1! It has been a very busy year for us but also one filled with lots of happy and wonderful memories which I hope we all cherish forever. I am very proud of all the children; how far they have come, what they have achieved and how much they have grown. I wish them a summer holiday filled with play and laughter and a happy and memorable Year 3 experience with Mrs Holden. I know they are in excellent hands!
English - We have wrapped up our English by doing some vocabulary work and thinking about the choices the writer has made in The King Who Banned the Dark. We also thought about persuasive writing.
Maths - In Maths we completed our work on statistics and focused upon measuring weight and temperature.
Science - We completed assessments to show just how much we have learned.
RE - We did some more work on Judaism and learned how Jesus and his apostles were all Jewish.
Geography - We learned about Uluru and wrote arguments about whether people should climb it or not.
PE - We used our last PE lesson to have a fun, explorative play. We set up team games and explored these.
Please enjoy the summer break. This is a time for play and making memories so there will be no homework set.
All I ask is that you READ as regularly as you can.

We would just like to express our sincerest gratitude to you for your continued support this year. I truly believe that we are a partnership who work together to try and give the best for your child and it is lovely to have seen your own hard work in supporting your child’s learning this year.
Thank you also to those of you who wrote wonderful notes and gave lovely gifts. We have been overwhelmed by your care and kindness and greatly appreciate the thought and time you have given to us.
It has truly been a pleasure and a privilege to support your children this year.
As this year ends we sadly have several goodbyes to give to staff who have worked with us. Our very own Mrs Gibbons is retiring at the end of this academic year and we are very sad to see her go. She has worked within Year 2 alongside me for the past 3 years and has worked in the wider school for even longer than this. The positivity and time she has put into delivering Art and PSHE to the children this year has been incredible and her care, love and experience is something which has really helped bring out the best in our Year 2 children.
We all truly wish her the best in her next adventure but want her to know that she is always welcome back in our class!
Thank you so much, Mrs Gibbons!
