This week we have focused on the disciples and how they felt when Jesus appeared to them again.. How at first the did not know it was Him and through His words and through His actions Jesus revealed Himself to them. We have spoken about our faith and belief in Jesus, despite the fact that we can’t see Him and the role that faith places in our love of God.
English - we have continued on with our RWI lessons. During these sessions we all focus on phonics, reading, spelling and sentence development. We have also been working on our pre-cursive handwriting in which we focus on how to write our letters, starting on the line. We are continuing to work hard on our common exception words, reading them in class every day!
Maths - this week we have been working on subtraction, this week by focusing on what do we need to subtract from a two digit number to get back to 10 and then continuing on from there - leaving ourselves with a number bond to 10 so 14 - 6= would be done by 14-4=10 and then 10-2=8 we have subtracted 6 by subtracting 4 and then 2. This has proved a little tricky - but we have made good progress over the course of the week.
RE - this week has been all about Jesus returning to His disciples and their response to that.
Art - this week the children have continued their Sculpture Unit focusing in on the work of Andy Goldsworthy.
Science - this week we continued our new unit all about Plants by focusing what plants need to grow. We have also planted our sunflower seeds and the potatoes are coming along nicely.
Topic - this week we started our new Geography unit about the four countries that make up the UK. We started by reviewing the seven continents of the world, focusing in on Europe and then the UK - even looking at the capital cities.
Many congratulations to this week’s winners…
