Well, we have reached that time of year again where it is time to say goodbye…..and look forward to next part of our adventure. I do not know where this year has gone to! It feels like yesterday when Year 1 walked through my door, not knowing what to expect. We were still bubbled, sat in pairs and didn’t mix with any other class. Thankfully as the year has gone on we have been able to relax some of those restrictions and we have even starred to have Key Stage assemblies again this term.
This year Mrs Veasey and I have watched Year 1 blossom; they have grown in confidence as the year has progressed and I am so proud of the class I see before me know. They have all made fantastic academic progress, but more than that, they have developed as little people with character traits which will stand them in good stead for the future. They have all developed their independence, resilience, friendships and willingness to just ‘have a go’ - this is the thing I am most proud of. If you never try, you’ll never know.
I wish you every success, Year 1, as you become Year 2. Mrs Veasey and I will watch your progress through school with much interest and great love - and with lots of lovely memories of the year we have had.. May God be with you.
At the end of the year the teachers award a very special Golden Award for the child who has embodied the school mission all year and been a true disciples of Christ. This year the end of year Golden Award goes to……
…..Penny for being a shining light in Year 1.
Penny walks into class each morning with a smile on her face, a desire to learn and a heart full of love to share. Penny’s love of learning is a delight to see in one so young and she shows through her kindness and care for others that she is a true disciple of Christ. Penny. Mrs Veasey and I are so very proud of you and all that you have achieved this year. Well done Penny!
A heartfelt thank-you to you all for your kind words, lovely cards and very generous gifts you have given to me and Mrs Veasey at the end of the year. We are very touched by your kindness and cannot thank you enough. Your kindness is very much appreciated. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you…..
Today we said a very sad goodbye to Mrs Wilson and Miss Haggerty as they both leave us to start their retirement. We wish you both much love, happiness and a very good rest!! We will miss you both.
And finally……have a lovely summer holiday, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you as very grown up Year 2’s. Mrs Hollinghurst, Mrs Veasey and Mrs Sanderson.
