Tomorrow, Friday, we will all go across to church to celebrate the Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas) as a whole school. We think about the faith placed in God by Simeon and Anna and hope that we too can be filled with the love of the Lord and place our lives in His hands.

The children have all worked very hard this week. These are the pupils we are particularly celebrating…

Golden Award - Isaac for super star science answers about floating and sinking

Writing Award - Olivia for working very hard to improve her letter formation

Maths - Award - Darcy for great comparison work using the greater than, less than and equals signs

This week we have been learning…..

English - we have been working hard in our RWI groups. In class we have focused on our common exception words, our beautiful handwriting and applying our phonic knowledge to help us with spelling words containing the ‘special friends’.

Maths - we have been learning about how to find the difference between a pair of numbers by either counting forward and backwards. We have also been applying our knowledge to word problems.

RE - we have been learning about the symbols of Baptism and what happens at a Baptism. Many thanks to all those who have sent in a photograph of their child’s Baptism - please continue to send these in.

Science - we have been continuing our work on the properties of Materials. This week focusing on materials that float or sink and those that bed or our rigid.

Topic - we have been using directions to help our crocodiles move around a pirate map! Also seeing if we could programme a bee-bot with clear instructions to help the bee move around the map.

Dates for your diary
