It was so lovely to welcome you all into school on Tuesday for our Welcome assembly. The children were so excited to see you and I was so proud of how well behaved they were. They are now officially part of the Our Lady’s family! What a journey they have been on so far since starting school, and time seems to be flying past. I just can’t wait to see what else they achieve this academic year.
Look at what we have been learning this week:
Phonics - the children have learnt two new sounds this week - ‘i’ - down his body, dot for his head and ‘n’ - down Nobby and over his net. We have also started to learn how to blend the sounds we have learnt together to make words. This is still a work in progress but I have been very impressed at how well the children are learning their new sounds. The children have also created their own books of the Rainbow Fish.
Maths - we met Stanley the Squirrel this week who needed help counting. We taught him lots of things such as: understanding the last number when we are counting a group of objects tells us how many there are altogether and that we can count things that we can’t see or touch such as sounds.
PSHE - we have created our class rules and discussed how important it is to follow these as best we can.
Art - the children created some beautiful collages of The Rainbow Fish.
R.E. - the children made their own creation wheels.
P.E. - we practiced throwing and catching.
Award winners
Each week during our school celebration assembly I will be handing out three certificates - Maths, Writing and a Golden award. Here are our winners for this week:
Maths - Lili

Golden - Loki
Tapestry
Following on from my e-mail last Friday, Tapestry has also been down this week. I do apologise for this and I have been told it should be back up and running next week at some point. Thank you for your patience.
Notices
Our P.E. days are Monday and Wednesday.
I still have a small number of parents who have not yet activated their Tapestry accounts. Please follow the activation link in the e-mail that has been sent out to you.
A reminder to please ensure that all jumpers and cardigans are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Please ensure your child’s water bottle is returned to school each day.
On the 21st October we will be holding a Parent’s Day - a chance for you to meet with me for us to discuss your child’s progress. A link should have been sent out to you to book your slot for the day.
There will be an Own Clothes Day on the 20th October (the last day of term). In exchange we are asking the children to bring in £1 towards PTA funds. Thank you for your support.
As we get closer to Christmas it is inevitable that bugs will start to circulate in the class. I just wanted to advise you that children can only return to school 48 hours after their last incident of sickness and diarrhoea. Thank you for your support with this.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Miss Heim-Sarac, Mrs Debowska and Miss Murray
P.S. How fantastic is this picture that Noah’s Mum sent in from last weekend? What a super opportunity!
