Harvest is upon us! Thank you so much for your kind donations of tinned food for our local food bank - we have managed to collect over 400 tins of food. This will make such a difference to so many people. The children have been so excited to have the opportunity to help others and they have enjoyed taking the tins down to the entrance hall each day. Yesterday, the children attended a Harvest assembly where they learnt in more detail just how much their donations will make a difference.
We have now come to the end of our first half term in Reception. I am so proud of all of the children for their hard work and also for how well they have settled into school. What a journey they have been on already! I have no doubt they will continue to amaze me as the year progresses.
In Phonics this week the children have learnt two new sounds - ‘p’ - down the plait and over the pirate’s face and ‘g’ - round her face, down her hair and give her a curl. We have also started to learn how to blend the sounds we have learnt together to make words. I was so pleased yesterday as the children blended their first words independently! Well done Reception!
In Maths we have focused on the number 2 and 3 this week and understanding that ‘one add another one is 2’ and ‘one add one add one is three’.

Each week during our school celebration assembly I will be handing out three certificates - Maths, Writing and a Golden award. Here are our winners for this week:

Tapestry
Tapestry has still been down this week. I do apologise for this, and I am hoping everything is resolved for after half term.
Thank you
It has been so lovely to meet you all again today during our meetings at school. I have loved telling you all about your child’s progress. They really are a gorgeous class and I cannot wait to see them again after half term. Thank you for all your continued support at home.
Have a relaxing break!
