In Assembly, Mr Duffy read from this weeks Gospel and spoke of the Beatitudes and how they guide us. We have continued to think about this in class, with a focus on the Saints and how they have set an example for us to follow.

In English, Year 3 have been looking at the 7 natural wonders of the world this week. We have described them using nouns, adjectives, verbs and metaphors. The children chose one in particular to describe in detail. Tomorrow, we will plan to write an information leaflet about a physical geography feature. Then, next week the children can write their information leaflet.

As it is national storytelling week, Year 3 also enjoyed a live lesson with Alim Kamara, who is a rapper and storyteller. They were inspired to write their own raps in groups of 2 or 3. Many of the children performed these, which was brilliant.

In Maths, we have been dividing a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. Their knowledge of multiplication facts really helps them with this. Please encourage regular use of TTRS at home! We continue to award housepoints for this.

In Science, the children learned about everyday objects which are magnetic. They investigated objects in the classroom, recorded their results in a table and then transferred this to a Carroll Diagram. It showed the children that magnetic materials were made of metal, but not all metals are magnetic!

Golden Tickets

Please write in your child's reading log when they have read with you and when they have finished a book. We ask for a minimum of 3 times per week. We will then be able to quiz and change their book for a new one. There is just one week left, after this week, to earn golden tickets before the winners are drawn for this half term.

Online Safety at Our Lady's

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Mental health misinformation online This #WakeUpWednesday guide explores how adults can support children and young people to recognise and challenge mental health misinformation online.
