Welcome back!

This week year 4 have had a fantastic start to the new term and have made Mr Duffy feel very welcome in assembly on Tuesday.

In English this week we have started our new writing unit based on The Journey by Francesca Senna. We have been recapping fronted adverbials to ensure our writing captivates the reader and have used our inference skills to predict what the book might be about based on just two contrasting illustrations.

In maths we are continuing mastering our times tables so the facts just pop into our heads without us having to think about working through from the beginning. Keep up the practise at home on TTRS! We have also started our unit on multiplication and division.

Science - we are looking at states of matter and investigated the different states of matter and how the particles behave in a solid, liquid and a gas.

Geography- we used Digi maps and google maps to look at our local area to see if we could plot our route to school!

On Thursday we went, as a whole school, to church and took part in Mass to remember that Jesus is a present given to us by God and we, through our actions can be a present to others by our kind deeds.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

Top Tips for parents: Essential online safety. This free guide gives ten practical and evidence-informed online safety tips to help adults guide children toward healthier and more informed digital habits.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
