Our learning this week…
In English, we’ve been learning more about the activities that the astronauts did during their expedition to the moon. The children have been writing in role creating kit lists and they have written a descriptive piece from an astronaut’s point of view, describing an activity undertaken on the moon.
Our focus in maths has been cube numbers, multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 and using multiples. We've also begun looking at fractions.
In RE, we have listened to the story of David and how he was chosen to be King. We then used scripture passages to think about what sort of King David might have been.
This week’s prayer and liturgy was planned and led by Frazer and Penny. The theme of their liturgy was being brave and trusting God, even when things get difficult. In the Bible reading, Jesus tells us that sometimes bad things can happen, but He encourages us to keep believing in God and to stay strong. Jesus promises that if we keep faith and don’t give up, God will always be with us."
Jesus reminds us that even when life is tough, we can be brave because God is always with us. Let’s remember to keep trusting Him and helping each other to be strong.

"Stand firm, and you will win life."
Luke 21:19
In Science, we have begun our new unit on Forces. This week, we explored how unsupported objects fall towards the Earth because of the force of gravity acting between the Earth and the falling object.
In geography, the children have been identifying the latitude and longitude of different places in the UK, Europe and beyond.
In Spanish the children have learnt to say when their birthday is.
In PE the children are working with PE specialist Max from Blackpool Football Club Community Trust. The focus of PE this half term is tennis.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about AI generated videos. This online safety guide explores AI-generated videos, and the dangers they pose to young people, including deepfakes, misinformation, and manipulation.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
