This week has been the final week of a very long half term! The children have had so many wonderful chances to shine and to keep working hard!
CULTUREFEST 2025
Tickets for the evening part of CultureFest 2025 are available at the following link

In Maths, the children have been using their addition and subtraction skills with check strategies, choosing efficient methods and problem solving. Today was dress like a rock star day! I loved seeing the outfits and celebrating multiplication with them!
In English, the children finished writing a newspaper article about sighting a sea creature. They've shown off their writing and editing skills brilliantly! They also wrote their approaching danger narrative in their most beautiful handwriting for display on the board.
In Science, the children started their experiment: submerging eggs in a range of liquids to simulate the effect of different drinks on teeth.
In art, the combined their Jeffrey the Maggot artwork with their zoomed in artwork and were incredibly creative. They also drew the school in the style of John Brunsdon.
In PE, the children played speed stacking, due to the inclement weather, they also played benchball inside.
In Music, the children continued their cornet playing. It is sounding brilliant! Keep up the effort at home too!
I am pleased to tell you that we will be using a website called IXL in our
classroom this year. IXL is a comprehensive learning program offering
unlimited maths and English practice across thousands of skills—all of which
are aligned to the national curriculum. One of the best things about IXL is that
your child can access it from home, so you have a chance to see their
progress!
Every child logged into IXL today. They have a letter with their log in details and have a copy stuck into the front of their reading record.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about FC26. This online safety guide explores EA FC 26 – the latest edition of the immensely popular football game. It flags potential risks, including in-game purchases, scams, and exposure to strangers via voice chat.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
