Thank you to all the grown ups who attended the Year 4 Class Liturgy today. I'm sure you will agree that they did a wonderful job!

They also did a wonderful job deciding, independently, what to thank God for during the liturgy.

And, they learned and performed the poem October's Party by George Cooper. If you missed the liturgy, please ask them to recite it for you!

Reading

Please ensure that you continue to sign your child’s reading records as they can have a sticker on their book mark for each day that they read to an adult at home. Once the book mark is full the children will receive a certificate. Also, will are giving out Golden Tickets for children who have read at least 3 times in one week (Wednesday - Wednesday).

Well done everyone who accessed lessons on Bedrock! I've given the children stickers. Please see one of us if you have any questions.

Here is what we have been up to this week

In Maths, the children have been estimating, rounding and working on efficient methods to solve addition and subtraction problems.

In English,  the children have moved onto a new text type: News articles. They have been looking at the vocabulary used in an example one and using it in a variety of sentence types. We've also looked at using apostrophes to show plural posession:

In Science, the children researched different ecosystems and constructed a food web.

In PE, the children played Boccia, working really hard on their team work skills.

In Geography, the children selected food from their food diaries and created an infographic based on research about it.

In Music, the children played their cornets, keep it the practice at home!

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Memes.  Memes may seem like harmless fun, but they can carry hidden risks. This guide explores how meme culture affects young people - from misinformation to inappropriate content and digital footprints.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
