As we continue our learning this October, we are thinking and talking about Mary. October is the month of the Rosary, so over the next month, Year 3 will be praying the Rosary regularly together.
Our learning this week…
In English, the children have been writing their own approaching threat narratives about The Iron Man. They have been trying to write in clear sentences, include conjunctions and use descriptive vocabulary. The children have worked really hard on this and I have been impressed with the quality of their first ‘big’ write.
In Maths, we have been finishing our focus on place value. The children have completed some assessment questions to show their understanding of this topic and identify any areas which we need to take another look at!
In Science, the children have been looking at animals and matching them to their endoskeletons. They also labelled parts of the skeleton and explained what it does.
In History, we are enjoying our Stone Age topic. Today, we looked at the Bronze age and how people lived in that time period. There are some good clips on BBC Bitesize about this! https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/articles/z42d7nb
Our school is currently in 4th place out of 15 schools in the trust and we have scored 914 points (school average score) so far.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about FC26. This online safety guide explores EA FC 26 – the latest edition of the immensely popular football game. It flags potential risks, including in-game purchases, scams, and exposure to strangers via voice chat.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
To read this week’s Good News Gospel reading, please follow the link to share the Gospel at home with your family. These are really child-friendly resources to share at home. Good News Gospel
Please also have a look at this Parent Newsletter linked with our weekly whole school and class worship…
Please ensure that you sign your child’s reading records as they can have a sticker on their book mark for each day that they read to an adult at home. Once the book mark is full the children will receive a certificate. Also, will are giving out Golden Tickets for children who have read atleast 3 times in one week (Wednesday - Wednesday). I have spoken to the children about this again this week, I do hope to see more children getting golden tickets next week and after that.
