The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marks the signing of the Armistice – an agreement to end the First World War. Yesterday, Year 5 spent time thinking about all those people in the armed forces who have sacrificed so much to protect their country.
Our learning this week…
In English, the children have been writing a biography about Anthony Horowitz and towards the end of this week they have been exploring similes in poetry with Mrs Gibbons.
In maths the children have been using the inverse to check their answers and have started to use bar charts, pictograms and tables to interpret and present discrete data.
In RE the children have looked at the life of St Martin de Porres and have thought about what he did to overcome the effects of Original Sin and what we can learn from him.
In Science we started our new topic on forces and have been identifying forces acting on objects.
In geography the children have invetsigated the link between longitude and time.
In art the children have made Space themed pictures using a variety of chalks and pastels..
In PE the children have continued to work on their dance with a space theme.
Our Award winners…
