This week we have talked about the importance of service, serving others and what we can do to make the world a better place. This comes after the first words spoken by King Charles III at his coronation on Saturday. We have examined how Jesus came to serve and how each day in our school prayer we also promise to ‘serve one anther’. We aim to serve God everyday and follow the words of Jesus, to keep His commandments.

We have also been working on our pre-cursive handwriting in which we focus on how to write our letters, starting on the line. We are continuing to work hard on our common exception words, reading them in class every day!
Maths - this week we have been working on comparing addition and subtraction calculations though the use of the greater then, less than and equal to signs. We have also looked at the language f addition and subtraction in problem solving questions.
RE - this week has been all about Jesus returning to His Father at the Ascension. We will celebrate this feast day in church next Thursday. We have spoken about the mixed feeling of the disciples, knowing that Jesus had returned to His Father and sending them out into the word to spread the Good News.

Science - this week we continued our new unit all about Plants by focusing trees, evergreen and deciduous and the differences between the two.
