Good Morning All,

I would like to start by saying a big Thank-you to you all and Well Done for the way you have approached the Home Learning Tasks. This is a very challenging time for us all, but I am delighted to see the way that you have all thrown yourselves into working from home and keeping the children on task. I have been overwhelmed by the beautiful pictures and messages you have sent through either Class Dojo or the Year 1 email system (year1@blackpool.sch.uk) - it has truly brightened by day to see the children’s smiling faces - I miss each and every one of them and cannot wait until our Year 1 family is reunited.

A massive thank-you to all the Key Workers for their dedication to the cause during these very trying times - thanks too to all my Our Lady’s colleagues who are working to keep school open to ensure Key Workers can remain at work and keep the country running. It is wonderful to see everyone working together during a period of unbelievable change. May God Bless each and everyone of you.

As you are all aware, Holy Week begins this Sunday with what would be our Palm Sunday service in Church. As this also marks the beginning of our Easter Holidays, I will not be setting a Home Learning Project this week. Instead, I have attached a pack of Easter home learning resources for you to have a go at during the break. Please do not feel that you have to complete the whole pack, pick and choose what you would like. However, it would be lovely if each of you could have a go at at least one of the following:

  • Design and create your own Easter garden.

  • Design and create your own Easter bonnet.

  • Design and colour an Easter egg - you could do this on paper or with a REAL hard-boiled egg. Could you make this into a character from the Easter story?

  • Write your own Easter prayer.

  • Perhaps plan your own garden Easter egg hunt by making clues for your family to solve.

  • Create a comic strip for one part (or more!) of the Easter story.

Feel free to send me your pictures via Class Dojo of your work , however, I will not be checking my accounts during the holidays until Tuesday 14th April.

Download the Easter Home Learning Pack here.

Finally, as I have previously mentioned, Fr Jim at Our Lady of the Assumption Church has created a website for the children in our school. This will feature weekly videos, activity sheets and age-appropriate links to each Mass’ focus. Please take a look at these wonderful resources - we are so lucky at Our Lady’s to have Fr Jim looking after our spiritual needs during this time.

May I wish you all a Happy and Holy Easter - hold each other tight - and may the Lord give us the strength we need to see us through the darkest of days. Stay Safe.

God Bless,
