Good Morning to you all!
Let me start off by saying how pleased I am with the standard of work that has been completed from home, over the past 8 weeks. I know it has not been an easy time for any of us, but you have shown just how resilient you are, and have impressed me week-on-week.
Yesterday was the feast of the Ascension and Fr Jim has uploaded the Mass on the church website. If you click on the blue button labelled ‘Press for the School Mass’, Fr Jim has done a child-friendly service, with some children from school doing the readings. It is so lovely! So if you didn’t manage to watch it yesterday, please do watch it with your child today or over the weekend…
As you will be aware, the next two weeks are actually our half term holiday. This means that I will not be setting the same work as we have been doing-I think you have all earned a well-deserved break! Instead, I have added a wealth of materials all related to Pentecost, which we celebrate on Sunday 31st May. The website link takes you to a selection of video clips about Pentecost suitable for the children, plus a selection of lovely creative activities. Please note that these resources are suggested activities to do over the half term, and are by no means a must! Feel free to dip into them as you please, there is no pressure to work your way through all of it. I would also suggest keeping on top of your reading and times tables, and of course all of the online resources will still be available for you to access from home, should you wish to-I will not be setting any specific work on them, however.
Below are links to all of the Pentecost-related activities:

Pentecost Reading Comprehension (they are differentiated, with ‘mild’ being the easier one, ‘spicy’ is middle and ‘hot’ being the more challenging one):

Don’t forget Fr Jim’s pages and the resources he has for the children, as well as a chance to ‘share’ Mass with him. These are really lovely resources and a beautiful way to share Mass with others. Please take a look. https://www.olablackpool.org/children-s-page
Due to the two week break, this will also mean that I will not be accessing my emails until Monday 8th June. I hope you can respect that this is also a time for us to take a break, and I will also be very busy during these weeks undertaking other school-related tasks. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
I hope you are able to enjoy a little ‘break’ over the coming days and weeks - we are all in need of a little comfort at the moment. I hope that you feel the power of the Holy Spirit as we celebrate Pentecost - may the Lord fill you with the love and strength that you need right now.
Take care,
Miss Slater, Miss Evans & Mrs Murray x
