Good afternoon everyone,
We hope you have had a happy and holy Easter.
During Lent, we fasted from saying ‘Alleluia’, which means ‘rejoice’ or ‘praise the Lord’, but we now rejoice and sing out all of our joy and praise for the Risen Lord, throughout the 50 days of Eastertide! This week’s prayers offer prompts for children to rejoice, by offering thanks to God, and praise Him by singing together.
Please follow this link below for more information on this week’s Gospel and to share some interesting activities at home.
Myself and Mrs Holden have been working together this week. Next week will be my final week in Year 4.
We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…
In English, the children have read the new text “The Journey” they’ve written incredible, emotive diary entries in character and have used the new vocabulary from the text.
We’ve also continued reading Anglo-Saxon Boy, it is getting exciting! So close to the end now!
In Maths, the children have worked brilliantly all week, partitioning decimals in different ways before using <,> and = to to compare decimals
In Music, the children have continued playing their brass instruments.
In RE, the children learned more about Jesus’ Resurrection.
In PE, the children completed some excellent team building activities.
In History, the children considered the challenges faced and the solutions used by the Ancient Maya when they settled in the rainforest.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Making Friends Online This free guide looks at the challenges of children forming friendships online, highlighting key risks such as grooming, privacy concerns and inappropriate content — and offers tips for staying safe.
What Parents and Educators Need to Know about ZEPETO This free guide explores ZEPETO, a fast-growing virtual world app. It highlights the associated risks for younger users, such as chatting with strangers, exposure to inappropriate content, and spending real money. We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.

📌NOTICES 📌:
Reading records, reading books and water bottles need to be in school every day, please.
Y4’s PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays. Earrings should not be worn on PE days.
Remember brass instruments on a Tuesday! If you don’t practice, you won’t improve.
Homework is available on the Y4 Homework section of the website, times tables and spellings will be tested next Friday.
Please keep sending your child in with their red water bottles or their GULP bottles. Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Holden, Mr Bourn and Mrs Dunford
