Yesterday, Year 4 had their first class mass of the year, it was on the theme of Abraham’s covenant, which matches our RE topic. Father gave a question and some challenges: What is a covenant? Invent a covenant and write the bidding prayers. They worked so hard and it was so difficult selecting whose bidding prayers to choose, I had to do it randomly! The children who read the bidding prayers and those who did the challenging readings did a fantastic job! Father also taught us a new song “Though the Mountains May Fall.” The children did a beautiful job learning, remembering and singing this!

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…

In English, the children have finished their setting descriptions with contrasting moods and moved onto looking at a newspaper report and considering whether the whale was spotted, or if it was a hoax!

In Maths, the children have been counting in 25s, and learning negative numbers. I am so proud of all of their effort in Maths this week.

In Music, the children have continued playing their cornets. Please keep practicing at home. Practice makes….

In PE, we have practiced handball skills.

In Science, the children have finished the journey of food through the digestive system.

In RE, we learned more about God’s covenant with Abraham, learning about Abraham and Sarah’s child, Isaac.

Resilience team!

Wellbeing Wednesday has continued! This week we wrote short positive messages to hand out to others in the class. The children also considered what it will mean to be Mental Health Champions and what their actions could be.

We’ve started planning the World Mental Health day activities for Thursday next week. .

Times Tables Rock Stars

Each half term, the schools within the trust compete with each other on TTRS. This half term’s competition is already underway but we can still do our best to get as many points as we can from now till the 18th October. In addition to this, during our Celebration assembly on a Friday, our leaderboard will be announced. Please see the poster. Good luck everyone!
