This week we have continued looking at the importance of Abraham and the covenant made with God. We also looked at how Abraham is important to Christians, Jews and Muslims.

Next wednesday is European Day of Languages. In class we will mark this day by dedicating some time to talk about the importance of foreign language learning, learn about the culture of our chosen country (Poland) and use the language.

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year 3 this week. Here’s what we have been up to…

In English, we have been working on our writing skills before writing our setting descriptions next week.

In Maths, we have continued counting looking at numbers to 10,000: using a number line, representing numbers using Roman Numerals and finding 1,000 more.

In PE, we have practiced handball skills.

In Science we have continued our journey through the digestive system, focussing on how important saliva is!

In RE, we learned about God’s covenant with Abraham. We wrote diary entries as if we were Sarah.

In Spanish, we have continued with phonics.

In Geography, we looked at how food is grown in a tropical climates.

Resilience team!

Wellbeing Wednesday has continued! This week I tasked Year 4 with handed out smiles to other members of the school and then we heard more from Adam about what the Mental Health Champions programme will entail. Everyone is very excited!

We are going to be leading a whole school Wellbeing Day on the 10th October, for this, children are encouraged to wear odd socks. We’ll be planning more details next week!

Times Tables Rock Stars

Each half term, the schools within the trust compete with each other on TTRS. This half term’s competition is already underway but we can still do our best to get as many points as we can from now till the 18th October. In addition to this, during our Celebration assembly on a Friday, our leaderboard will be announced. Please see the poster. Good luck everyone!

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Final Fantasy XIV  This free guide covers the risks of the popular video game Final Fantasy XIV, as well as letting you know how to help young players safely enjoy this MMORPG.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
