This week, the children in Year 4 have made us all very proud with their fantastic efforts throughout the week and especially during our Sports Day today. It was great to see their enthusiasm towards the activities and races, they really were challenging themselves to achieve their best. They were supportive of one another and there was a real sense of teamwork - Well done Year 4!!
Have a look on Class Dojo for some pictures and videos of sports day!
Our learning this week…
In English, we have been using a range of vocabulary and sentence structures to develop our techniques within creative writing.
In Maths, we have been exploring decimals, and placing on a number line to demonstrate our understanding of their value.
In RE, we are continuing with our topic ‘Belonging to the Church’. We continued our research on the church website of Our Lady’s to find out more about our own parish community and presented our findings to the class.
Reading Book Challenge….
Just a reminder, due to the success of our last challenge, we have decided to begin a new ‘Reading Book Challenge’,
There will be prizes for first, second and third, the winners will be drawn from a hat for the children who have read five times a week consistently throughout the duration of the challenge. Last time the prize was cake with Mrs Ormerod! So…. Keep reading and quizzing Year 4!!
Reading Record Reminder:
Please sign your child’s reading record so we are clear that their book needs changing - Many thanks
