Hello Year 4
Well done to you all for your efforts this week, it is great to see how hard you are all working in these difficult times, whether at home or in school. We continue to feel so proud of each of you and it was lovely to see some of your pictures relating to this week’s mental health theme of ‘Express Yourself’. Now, more than ever, it is so important that we maintain ways to keep our minds healthy and allow ourselves ways to express our emotions and feelings.
SAFER INTERNET DAY:
This week it is Safer Internet Day on 9th February 2021. The UK Safer Internet Centre is encouraging everyone to think about reliability online. The campaign looks at how we can know what to trust online, and how we can support young people to question, challenge and change the online world, using the theme ‘An internet we trust: Exploring reliability in the online world.’
Please complete the ‘Virtual Assembly’ linked to Safer Internet Day on Tuesday, you will find the link for this on the week’s timetable in our home learning folder or follow the link below. It would also be great if you could create your own posters in recognition of the day and send these to Class Dojo.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING…
We have been completing the ‘Mission Possible’ Literacy unit, developing our understanding of story build up, characters and setting. We have also started our ‘Whale Rider’ Narrative Writing topic. It is great to see some of the exciting vocabulary you have created this week!
In Geography we have been learning about ‘South America’. In class, the children created their own musical instruments, which they also used to explore this week’s science work linked to sound…
NEXT WEEK…

It would be lovely to share your ‘Safer Internet Day’ posters on our blog next week.
There is also a link to some daily worships on this week’s timetable, please take some time to share and reflect on these together at home.
AND A REMINDER…
The children in school have really enjoyed seeing you during the live lessons and we hope that we can all be together again soon, but until then keep tuning in to our remote classroom.
See you Monday morning on our ‘Google Meet’ session.
Kind regards
Mrs Parker, Mrs Ormerod and Mrs Debowska
