Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

Key Messages for Whole School Worship
Key Messages
Children will understand that:
We have hope because Jesus came to be with us at Christmas, which we prepare for during Advent.
Jesus gives us strength and courage to face difficulties when we are open to Him.
When we are open to Jesus we can share His love with those we meet.
Please have a look at this Parent Newsletter linked with our weekly whole school and class worships…
At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Snapchat. This free guide brings you up to date with the risks associated with Snapchat, and lets you know how best to safeguard young people who use the app.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.

Our learning this week…
In RE, we have been continuing our topic ‘Prophecy and Promise’. This week we have explored the story of The Annunciation, considering how this event was the fulfillment of the prophecy made be Isaiah in the Old Testament. The children were able to reflect on the strength of Mary’s faith and trust in God.
In English we have started to plan our own fables based on our class texts ‘Fox’ and ‘Bear’. The children were encouraged to use a ‘story mountain’ to structure their stories and we developed our use of character description.
In Maths we have been consolidating our knowledge of multiplication and division, in solving a variety of real life word problems. We have also been using estimating and checking strategies to ensure answers are accurate.
In History, we have been continuing our topic on ‘The Stone Age’. This week we have been considering the differences and similarities between stone age and bronze age, with a particular focus on gathering and hunting food.
