Jon teaches us that love is sacrificial, humble, and constant. Offering one's life for the sake of others is the ultimate expression of this love; however, Jesus does not mean that Christian love is only shown in grand gestures. Rather, it's to be the pattern of our entire lives (John 15:12–13)
English - we have continued on with our RWI lessons. During these sessions we all focus on phonics, reading, spelling and sentence development. We have also been working on our pre-cursive handwriting in which we focus on how to write our letters, starting on the line. We are continuing to work hard on our common exception words, reading them in class every day!
Maths - this week we have been working on subtraction off a two digit number. We have looked at partitioning the number and subtracting the tens and then the ones. By doing this we have learnt that when you subtract 10 from a two digit number the ONES number DOES NOT change.
We have also looked at subtracting a one digit number and partitioning that to get back to ten and then subtracting the rest of the number so 12-5= we would subtract 2 first to get back to 10 and then subtract 3. This has emphasised the need for the children to LEARN their number bonds to 10. Please continue towork on these at home.
RE - this week has been all about Jesus returning to His disciples, the worry they felt about Jesus leaving them. We have talked about these feelings and the ole that the disciples were given by Jesus to spread the Good News.
Art - this week the children have continued their Sculpture Unit through the medium of clay! Great fun had by all!!
Science - this week we continued our new unit all about Plants by focusingon garden and wild plants and the differences between the two.
Topic - this week we started our new Geography unit about the four countries that make up the UK. We continued this week by focusing in on Blackpool and the features of the town the children live in.

Water bottles - all the children were given a new school bottle this week. This will come home each night to be cleaned and re-filled.
